ALDA, die Europäische Vereinigung für lokale Demokratie, ist eine mitgliederbasierte Organisation, die 1999 auf Initiative des Kongresses der Gemeinden und Regionen des Europarates gegründet wurde. ALDA setzt sich für die Förderung von Good Governance und Bürgerbeteiligung auf lokaler Ebene ein und konzentriert sich dabei auf Aktivitäten, die die Zusammenarbeit zwischen lokalen Behörden und der Zivilgesellschaft in der Europäischen Union und ihren Nachbarländern erleichtern. Das Europäische Netzwerk zur Bekämpfung der Armut (EAPN) ist das größte europäische Netzwerk nationaler, regionaler und lokaler Netzwerke, an dem Nichtregierungsorganisationen (NRO) und Basisgruppen sowie europäische Organisationen beteiligt sind, die sich für die Bekämpfung von Armut und sozialer Ausgrenzung einsetzen. Es wurde 1990 gegründet.
Unterstützt von der Europäischen Kommission [1] ist das EAPN ein Netzwerk von 31 EU-Mitgliedstaaten (ohne Slowenien), Norwegen, Island, Serbien und Mazedonien.
